Our Tokyo junior program is hosted at Lakeland University Japan, an accredited American university campus located in central Tokyo. The campus provides a safe, modern, and supervised environment perfect for junior learners.

We make arrival and departure as smooth as possible with private airport transfers and clear instructions for parents and students.

Arrival Airports

Tokyo Haneda Airport (HND)
Preferred airport - 30 minutes from campus

Tokyo Narita Airport (NRT)
Also accepted - 90 minutes from campus

Private transfer included from both airports. Staff will meet students at arrivals with clear signage.

Arrival Windows

Recommended arrival: Program start day between 09:00-16:00

Recommended departure: Program end day after 12:00

Early arrivals or late departures can be arranged with advance notice (additional fee may apply).

Visa Requirements

Most nationalities can enter Japan visa-free for tourism for up to 90 days. Please check your country's specific requirements.

We provide visa support letters if required. Contact us early if you need assistance with visa applications.

Unaccompanied Minor Service

We accept students traveling with airline unaccompanied minor (UM) service. Our staff will coordinate directly with the airline.

Please notify us at booking if your child will be using UM service so we can arrange special airport procedures.

How do you ensure student safety?
Safety is our top priority. We maintain 24/7 supervision with trained staff, enforce strict curfews, use a buddy system during all activities, conduct regular headcounts, and provide emergency medical support. All excursions are supervised, and students never travel independently. Our campus is in one of Tokyo's safest districts with secure, controlled access.
Does my child need to speak Japanese?
No Japanese language skills are required. All staff are fluent in English, and all instruction and support is provided in English. We teach basic Japanese phrases as part of the program to help students navigate daily life, but everything is fully supported in English.
What is included in the program fee?
The program fee includes all accommodation, meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner), tuition, activities, excursions, airport transfers, 24/7 supervision, learning materials, and program certificate. Not included: flights, insurance, visa fees (if required), and pocket money for personal purchases.
How will I stay in contact with my child?
Students have access to Wi-Fi in residence halls and can use messaging apps, video calls, and email to contact home during free time. We also provide a 24/7 emergency contact number for parents and send regular photo updates via a secure online portal. Scheduled call times can be arranged.
What should my child bring?
We provide a detailed packing list upon registration. Essentials include comfortable walking shoes, weather-appropriate clothing (summer is hot and humid), sun protection, personal toiletries, any necessary medications, and pocket money (recommended ¥10,000-20,000 for souvenirs). Bedding and towels are provided.
Can dietary requirements be accommodated?
Yes, we can accommodate vegetarian, vegan, halal, gluten-free, and allergy-related dietary needs. Please inform us of all requirements at the time of booking so we can make appropriate arrangements with our catering partners.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations more than 60 days before start: full refund minus deposit. 30-60 days: 50% refund. Less than 30 days: no refund. We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance that covers cancellations, medical emergencies, and trip interruptions.
What are the group sizes and student mix?
Groups typically have 15-20 students with a maximum of 25. We welcome students from all countries and backgrounds, creating a truly international experience. Students are grouped by age and language level for activities when appropriate to ensure everyone feels comfortable and engaged.
